Dual use storage and compute server (2025 edition)

• (1×) hot-swap SAS cages for 8×2.5” drives
• (1×) 1 slim optical (laptop) drive + 2×2.5“ drive
• (1×) 1 slim optical (laptop) drive + 1×3.5” slot/drive
• (3×) 5×3.5“ drive hot-swap cages
• …and more

Requires modifying case to accomandate 3×5.25” → 5×3.5“ hotswap cages

• 12 5.25” slots
• Can fit up to 20 3.5“ drives if we don't add a DVD drive
• Example:
  • 3× 5 3.5” drive cages = 15 HDD
  • 1× BDR drive
  • 2× 8 2.5“ drive cages = 16 SSD

• 16 hot-swap slots
• 2 non-stacked 5.25” slots (each can hold 4*2.5“ internal drives OR a 5.25” module)
